He received an engineering degree before studying theater at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts in Moscow. Upon graduation, he was invited to act at the Mayakovsky Theatre. In 1990, Demidov immigrated to Israel and has worked at the Gesher Theater ever since. Among his remarkably extensive list of roles are Alferd in “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead,” Michel in “The Dreyfus Trial,” Louis XIV in “Tartuffe,” Prince Lev Nikolayevich Myshkin in “The Idiot,” and Yossi in “Village.” He also participated in an unforgettable production of “Odessa Stories” by Isaac Babel. Demidov appeared in many TV productions, including the late-nineties hit “Florentine,” and hosted several shows, including “Sasha’s Friends.” On the big screen, he appeared in “Saint Carla,” “Yana’s Friends,” “Scar,” and “Seven Days.” In 1994, during a performance in Manchester, Demidov was recognized by the press as the best guest actor in the production for his role in “Idiot.”
