Description
Philip Roth is among the world's most highly regarded writers, if also one of its the most controversial and Jewishly preoccupied. Zipperstein, whose last book was "Pogrom: Kishinev and the Tilt of History" (Liveright/WW Norton, 2018), has just started writing a biographical study of Roth based on extensive archival research, interviews with close friends and others as well as conversations with Roth over the course of several years. Zipperstein is the Daniel E. Koshland Professor in Jewish Culture and History at Stanford University.
