- the intersection of early Christian documents with Graeco-Roman politics and social regimens;
- Christian origins, situating early Christian discourse and social practice within two ancient Mediterranean contexts: second temple Judaism and Greco-Roman thought and practices;
- analyzing the roles of Graeco-Egyptian papyrology and epigraphy within interpretations of early Christian documents. This context conduces the depiction of social, economic, and cultural worlds - especially those of the non-elite sectors - that existed in ancient Mediterranean society.
